At Breakaway, our vision is to be an expert industry leader in disability and human services, with connected, reliable, quality local support for clients and families to inspire inclusion and confidence.


We are committed to creating an inclusive and welcoming community for people with a disability.


As part of this commitment, we offer social and day service events for people with a disability in our community, a Consumer and Community Advisory Group as well as provider events such as our Community of Practice to provide meaningful networking and educational opportunities to providers.

Breakaway events are open to anyone.

DISABILITY SOCIAL EVENT

Breakaway holds a Social Group every Friday night. Social Group activities give participants the opportunity to meet and make new friends in a supportive environment.


Participants from other organisations are welcome, along with their own support.

Community of practice.

COMMUNITY OF PRACTICE EVENT

The purpose of the Community of Practice (CoP) is to share information and services offered in the community, connect with other providers/colleagues, seek support and guidance from other members and reflect on learnings in practice.


It is a catered event with a guest speaker and an opportunity to network, and explore what’s working well and the barriers to providing holistic  wrap-around support to our clients and families.

consumer and community advisory group (CCAG)

Strategic advice.

CONSUMER AND COMMUNITY ADVISORY GROUP

The CCAG comprises consumer and community members who receive services from other not-for-profit disability providers as well as Breakaway.


The CCAG provides strategic advice to the Chief Executive Officer on disability and service delivery matters from a consumer and community perspective supporting continuous improvement.


The advice of the broader CCAG complements the advice and experience of clients of Breakaway and family representatives to inform innovation and co-design of service delivery models.


This group was established by Breakaway as a shared community service to support other not -for-profit disability providers along with Breakaway in improving the quality of our services as a shared opportunity for learning.
