A tailored support package can include services such as:
- Social Support/Community Access: To meet needs for social contact. Social Support may include accompanying you to shopping appointments or to assist you to participate in community activities.
- In-Home Respite: Providing relief for carers of those requiring care and support.
- Residential/Holiday Respite: Short term overnight respite which provides a holiday for guests and overnight respite for carers. Read details »
- Emergency Respite: Day and /or overnight respite which is provided in emergency or crisis situations.
- Assessments: To assess individual needs and to determine eligibility and access to services.
- Vacation Care: Provides support and activities for clients to access during school holidays through a registered Vacation Care Facility while providing respite for carers or families.
- Home Safety Assessments: A qualified staff member can undertake a risk assessment in your home and make recommendations on safety measures to assist you maintain a safe home environment and remain
Who can receive services?
All members of the community aged between 0-65 who have a diagnosed disability are welcome to access our services. The service follows the principles of equity, access, participation and safeguards the principles in policies and procedures.
How much does it cost?
Funding is provided to Breakaway through a number of existing State Government agencies and programs, though most services require a minimal co-payment from you. If you are experiencing financial hardship, co-payments may be reduced or waived for a period of time. You will not be denied a service because you are experiencing financial hardship and are unable to pay the fee.

Provision of the service depends on funding available. Fee for service is available in special circumstances.
